Taking its title from a song by Jeffrey Lewis, Richard Brammer’s third book contains all of his usual contemporary pop-cultural concerns (subcultural detritus, hipsterism, social-media technologies, half-remembered rave eras, Grunge, college-rock bands, hauntological scenes from quotidian everyday life) but changes tack slightly with a newer, often minimalist style that is slightly reminiscent of writers like Chelsey Minnis - something more restrained, obscure, untitled and yet still readable.
The book comes complete with its own discography, an ’unhelpful’ index and a lengthy appendix operation.
